“Sine labore nihil” (Nothing without work).
Accept responsibility for who you are. Fall back on the results of what you have done. When you are down after a hard effort, have you earned the rest ?
This is but one of the tenants of this community. Our Family. The welcome mat is down, and the door just beyond it. The structure it leads to is not for the faint. Inside that building are people that wear badges of pain that everyone wants to claim they have endured. We know few have really worn them. We want you to join us, but you have to prove who you are. To join us you have to stay ready. You need a special character. We demand a dedication to the craft. And we have to trust what we see in you.
This will not be easy. We will be your hardest critic. We will ask that anyone that stand with you, can speak well of you. This virtuosity is what we are about. And it is not easy. Harder. Faster. Longer. Stronger. Knowledge. Growth. For the we not the I
All effort, all the time. Improve or lose. “Sine labore nihil” (Nothing without work).
How do I get in the CFEF
So whats the deal with this CFEF thing ? How much is it ? What do I get ? Well, excellent questions all. Heres the scoop; Since 2001 ( 2003 on the internet) This has been the only concept I have had. Community.
1. The CrossFit East Family is a group of like minded Box Owners and Athletes that share the concept of training hard. It dosent include a Gym just because they opened in Jacksonville, or you know them. It includes folks you can stand up for and say they are good to go. They are honest, professional, morally correct and supportive.
2. CFEF focus is on correct learning principals and the display of excellent technique. It it goes on a board, or is on display, it has to be solid.
3. This development occurs in our Boxes. We build that family first and then share it with the CFEF community by coming together to attend seminars, competitions and fundraisers.
4. Be professional. Refer Athletes to the best box for them. If you know each other well enough then you should have an idea how a Coach operates, If the Athlete is not getting where you think he needs to be, call another coach for support, or refer them out. It’s about them not you.
Thats it. Pretty simple huh ? For the ownership part: Be true to the methods and train intensely. Be OK with getting called out on poor form. Show up, show others you have it. For the family part: Show each other you can be trusted. Be above just running a gym. Share your learning and grow our community. Improve it by going to training sessions and listening to each other. Support each other when you can.
Gotta have family.
